Eugenio Vocaturo is a Researcher at the Institute of Nanotechnology (CNR–Nanotec), National Research Council of Italy, Rende, where he leads the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He holds a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies and multiple master’s degrees in Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, and Web/Mobile Application Design. Eugenio has decades of experience in industry as a company director, logistics manager, and head of editorial production. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Explainable AI, computer vision, and mathematical optimization, with applications in biomedicine, agritech, digital heritage, and public health. He is the creator of intelligent systems including Covid Scanner, MAizeNet, and XAI-based tumor classification models. Eugenio teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Calabria and is an invited lecturer in international PhD programs. He organizes workshops such as AI & Big Data vs Pandemics and AIDA, fostering interdisciplinary research collaborations. He is a member of IEEE, SIBIM, AIXIA, and HL7 Italy.
