I am Asad Khan, a passionate and motivated PhD researcher in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Sichuan Agricultural University, China. I did a bachelor in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During my master I worked on developing sustainable, research-driven solutions to zoonotic threats that benefit both public health and the scientific community. As part of the Vaccine Design team at Fosun Pharmaceutical, I spearheaded research and development efforts to discover and characterize novel vaccine candidates. My recent research in PhD has centered on the gut-brain axis, where I evaluated the neuroprotective properties of specific, heavy metabolites derived from the gut microbiome and their potential as novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. My research focused on the interplay between the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria, specifically investigating how their crosstalk regulates mitochondrial biogenesis and its dysfunction in Parkinson's disease.
