Mr. Damas Theobald Msaki studied BSc. Animal Science Degree (2000) and later he pursued MSc in Tropical Animal Production, and graduated in 2014. Both degrees were attained at the Sokoine University of Agriculture, in Tanzania. He then joined the Swedish International Training Programme (ITP) through the National Veterinary Institute (SVA) of Sweden (2019), and conducted several change projects that researched on the irrational use of antimicrobial agents in smallholder livestock production system along Kibaha Town Council (Tanzania), under the theme, “Healthy Livestock, Safe Food”. He’s been a champion in creating awareness in the surrounding communities about rational antimicrobial use (AMU) and the effects pertaining to food borne antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He is also a member of the Research and Academia in the AMR Multi-Sectoral Partnership Platform (AMR-MSPP) of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), representing Kibaha Education Centre where he works.
