Emerik holds a master’s degree in molecular biology and a PhD in an
interdisciplinary field (biology and basic medical sciences). He has
completed professional training in Spain and Poland on several occasions
and is a co-author of 14 scientific papers. He is currently employed as
a senior assistant (postdoctoral researcher) at the University of
Zagreb, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, at the Department of
Nutrition and Dietetics. His scientific work focuses on developing green
methods for the extraction and formulation of nutraceuticals, as well as
investigating their biological effects. Additionally, his research group
is dedicated to exploring various types of agricultural waste (tomato,
olive, mandarine) and valorizing their potential as sources of bioactive
compounds beneficial to human health. He is also actively involved in
teaching and mentoring master’s students at his institution.
