Dr. Ya-Ping Sun earned his Ph.D. (1989) at Florida State University with Prof. Jack Saltiel. After postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin in the groups of Prof. Josef Michl and Prof. Marye Anne Fox, he became a Clemson faculty as assistant professor in 1992, and full professor in 1999. His research interest and activities have mostly been in nanomaterials and nanotechnology, with 370+ publications, 55,000+ citations, and h-index 110.
