Dr. Clive J. C. Phillips is a globally respected expert in animal welfare, with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. He holds a PhD in dairy-cow nutrition and behavior from the University of Glasgow and has served in academic roles at Cambridge, the University of Wales, and the University of Queensland, where he became Australia’s first Professor of Animal Welfare. He was also the founding director of the Centre for Animal Welfare and Ethics. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at Curtin University and a Visiting Professor at the Estonian University of Life Sciences. Dr. Phillips has published over 400 peer-reviewed papers and several influential books. He has made significant contributions to animal welfare policies and ethics worldwide, serving on advisory boards and international committees. His research and leadership continue to inspire improvements in the treatment and understanding of animals across the globe.
