Fabiano D'Este is a videomaker and scientificresearcher. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Padua and a master’sdegree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Education. At the CommunicationLaboratory of IZSVe in Padua, he producesaudiovisualmaterials for scientificcommunication and training, focusing on animalhealth and foodsafety.
Alongsidethis work, together with hiscolleague Luca Lunardi, he conductsresearch on the representation of the non-human in cinema. Theirstudiescriticallyexaminehowclassical and contemporary film constructs the image of the non-human animal, with the aim of identifying narrative formsthatmovebeyond an anthropocentricperspective. Thisresearchhas led to severalpublishedessays and contributions to academicconferences.
Beyond myinstitutional productions, I pursue personal documentaryprojects and collaborate with a music group in the creation of their music videos.
